Dr. Stefanie Fernandez is a compassionate optometrist dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care while helping patients achieve and maintain lifelong visual health. She is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care by listening to patient concerns, educating them about their eye health, and developing treatment plans tailored to their individual needs. With experience in both primary eye care and medical optometry, Dr. Fernandez is passionate about diagnosing and managing ocular disease while continually advancing her clinical expertise.
Dr. Fernandez earned her Doctor of Optometry degree and a Bachelor of Science in vision science from the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a concentration in foundations for medical sciences from Elon University, where she minored in neuroscience and psychology.
She currently provides comprehensive eye care in a busy clinical setting, where she diagnoses and manages a wide range of eye conditions while caring for patients of all ages. During her clinical training, Dr. Fernandez completed externships at leading ophthalmology practices in Florida, gaining extensive experience in medical optometry, ocular disease management, cataract and post-operative care, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, corneal disease and oculoplastic care. She also observed cataract surgery and developed experience working alongside ophthalmologists in collaborative OD/MD practices.
Dr. Fernandez is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and Northeast Florida Optometric Association, and is also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Fernandez enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and continuing to explore new opportunities for personal and professional growth.
