From the first initial visit through cataract surgery in both eyes, Dr Dickens and his team were friendly and professional. Throughout the entire process, I had complete confidence that Dr Dickens and his staff knew exactly what they were doing and had my care as their number one priority. Dr Dickens personally called me later in the day of my surgery both times, and met with me the next day to be sure that I was doing well. Special mention and thanks go out to Luba, who does an excellent job with the measuring and testing. If you need cataract surgery, they dont get any better than Dr Alan Dickens.
Great doctors but be prepared for very long waits. (Updated after 3 years.... Staff efficiency has steadily improved, both in person and over the phone. Increasing from three to five stars.)
I received excellent care from Dr. Mettu. I had a small, benign mole on my eyelid that my dermatologist didnt want to touch since it was so close to my eye. Dr. Mettu was friendly and professional and was able to remove the mole in the office on the same day. The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is the amount of money I owe for this quick, minor procedure.
This rating accounts for the potential wait time. It is not always bad, but it is also a reflection on the quality of the doctors in this office. I was referred to Dr. Dickens due to glaucoma etc. and I was at risk of becoming blind with it all. Dr. Dickens was prompt and efficient in taking the appropriate actions and after surgery and regular eye drops, I am still working online at 75, albeit with glasses of course. Being retired, waiting is not a problem for me and eyes, like brain, cannot be replaced easily. I trust Dr. Dickens 100 and the long drive involved is worth it. This office is carrying a large load of patients, who, like me, refuse to go elsewhere. Please allow for some waiting in return for excellent care.
