So...Im reading all the negative reviews and Im just floored! My husband was under the care of Dr. Dickens at both the Blue Ridge and Durant offices...had 2 eye surgeries. Our experience? The BEST! We never waited in the waiting room OR the exam rooms for more than a scant 5-10minutes. The staff was polite, professional, and very competent. Dr Dickens spent plenty of time with my husband both prior and following surgery and follow-ups. Me,odd was a gem to work with --very efficient and knowledgeable....she had everything organized for before and after care and visits to follow. Recently (past couple of weeks), I was referred to an ophthalmologist for cataract surgery and I CHOSE Raleigh Ophthalmology AND Dr. Dickens as well. There was no question! My eye dr referred me and sent notes to Raleigh Ophthalmology who contract me within a day or so to schedule my appt. On the day if my appt, I was taken back within 15 mins, the technicians did measurements for Dr. Dickens and then I was taken to the exam room. The technician covered my medical history and when she was done, Dr. Dickens came in. Dr. Dickens spent time doing a few test, who went over the procedures...he spent a reasonable amount of time going over everything. Melody wasnt available to schedule the surgery the day I went in, but I received a call from her the following day and she went over the same procedural information with me as she had done with my husband. I did have to go back in for a extra measurement required for my eye to ensure a correct lens would be used (common for patients whove had lasik). My wait time was less than 5 minutes until I was taken back and the test performed. I was in/out in 15 mins. So...Im not sure why all the bad reviews wrt wait times or concerns about staff because that has definitely not been our experience at all!
